Ms. Zeina
Sahyoun holds a Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology and a Master's
degree in Biotechnology Research from the University of Kent at Canterbury,
United Kingdom. Her genetic research was
published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry in 1997. In 1998, Ms. Sahyoun joined Unilever PLC and
moved to their Levant office in Beirut for two years before returning to
Jordan, where she joined MedLabs Consultancy Group as Operations Director. In
2002, Ms. Sahyoun was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and moved to California,
USA, where she completed a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA)
with a particular focus on international business and marketing.
Ms.
Sahyoun returned to MedLabs in 2004 and has been Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
since 2006. She sits on the company's Executive Committee that oversees the
day-to-day management of MedLabs. As CMO, Ms. Sahyoun plays a pivotal role in
increasing MedLabs visibility, patient engagement and brand equity. Her
responsibilities include launching and managing local and regional health
awareness campaigns, public relations, online marketing, advertising, corporate
social responsibility and community building initiatives, conferences and
corporate business development. Her tasks also include overseeing the
implementation of new MedLabs branches in addition to renovations and upgrades
across all countries they operate in. Ms. Sahyoun’s most recent role is in
co-founding MedLabs’ Integral Academy: ”The Academy of Science, Innovation
and Integral Learning” (ASIIL) aimed at providing comprehensive vocational
training for fresh laboratory medicine graduates. Ms. Sahyoun is a frequent
speaker at events and an author on several print and online platforms. She is
also an active participant in local women’s empowerment initiatives (including
the ‘Empowering Through’ series of books) and supports several NGOs that
focus on women’s rights, child safety and the importance of health awareness
and preventive medicine. In 2018 Ms. Sahyoun was elected to the Board of
Directors at the Royal Health Awareness Society in Jordan, one of Her Majesty
Queen Rania’s key initiatives.
